Want a workshop you’ll actually learn from? Sue is a D’Addario Educational Clinician and offers free clinics.
These instructional workshops are fully sponsored by D’Addario Strings. Topics include:
Strings 101 *all levels, students or educators
Engaging everyone from middle schoolers through professional development days, Strings 101 delivers a fun and interactive presentation about what strings are made of, how they sound different, their lifespan, and how to make educated choices in the strings and gear we use.
*This course can be presented to educators and brought to your Professional Development days.
Jazz Improvisation for Full Orchestra *ideal for middle and high school orchestra
Join jazz violinist and educator, Sue Buzzard, as we learn and play fundamentals of jazz improvisation, including baselines, rhythms, chord structure and harmony. Every student will learn every part – melody, base, and chord tones - so no section is pigeonholed to “melody” or “backup”.
By the end of this lesson, any and every student can lead their own jazz jam with all the parts! Includes free backing tracks, pdfs and more downloads for continued play and practice.
Kaplan in the Classroom:
Join Sue for an engaging deep dive into the entire line of D’Addario Kaplan Orchestral Strings. Part Strings 101, part reading session, participants will get the opportunity to try out new Kaplan Strings while learning about what they’re made of and how their construction gives them their unique sound.
Sue has presented clinics at conferences, schools, and studios. Let her bring an engaging, knowledgeable experience to your players and teachers.
